For ESG Insider podcast with Esther Whieldon and Lindsay Hall, Vaishali, Co-founder and Chairperson of Sustainability, ReNew, discussed India’s leadership of the global clean energy transition and valuable lessons that the country offers for the global south.

Per reports, since 2015, there has been a remarkable increase—over 60%—in RE investments. Out of the total, investments in EMDEs (emerging markets and developing economies) remain at only 15%. It really is doubling down on both quality and quantity of investments in emerging technologies that will help propel investments in developing economies. While accelerated national, subnational, and corporate decarbonisation commitments are key drivers to deploying low-carbon technologies, de-risking investments is important to increase bankability and scale sustainable solutions globally.
