The future of renewable energy in India seems bright. In 2023, India ranked 4th1 globally for total renewable power capacity additions. As of September 2024, India’s installed capacity for renewable energy stood at 201.45 GW2 against its target of 500 GW renewable energy installed capacity by 2030. Renewable Energy India Expo (REI Expo) showcases India’s renewable sector growth story every year. The event brings together like-minded futurists from different segments of the Indian green energy domain to showcase innovations, participate in discussions, and gather expert insights on what’s driving the industry forward..
As India advances rapidly towards trebling its renewable energy capacity by the end of the decade, ReNew contributed approximately 10 percent3 of India’s total solar and wind energy generation in FY24. At ReNew, we believe solar energy, with a cumulative installed capacity of 90.76 GW4 for India will play a big role in achieving the country’s targets.
Held every year and revered for its mission of driving the Indian renewable energy ecosystem forward, REI’s 17th edition held from October 3–5 at the India Expo Center, Greater Noida, Delhi, brought together everyone from top brands to 800+ suppliers and industry veterans to subject-matter experts, featuring products and technology that will define the sector’s advancement for years to come.
REI 2024 gave us the unique opportunity to connect with fellow energy enthusiasts and hold productive discourse on the key challenges in the industry, the solutions to common obstacles, the constantly-evolving policy landscape, and the exciting advancements that lie on the horizon. Between the exhibitions and discussions, the ReNew stall experienced an overwhelming response, becoming one of the busiest units at the event. Most of our visitors comprised system integrators, channel partners, project developers, and customers from both commercial and industrial sectors.
Our experts exhibited our top-of-the-line Solar panels, demonstrating the use of PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) and TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technologies that are raising the bar on the efficiency of Solar energy installations. We demonstrated how PERC helps better light absorption, resulting in a higher energy conversion efficiency for the entire panel. The demonstration of how our TOPCon technology allows for a high pilot-line and volume production efficiency, even in low light environments, was also revered by industry experts.
We also showcased our Mono PERC modules (compliant with Domestic Content Requirement) that are helping us power urban rooftops and commercial installations to their truest extent. We are grateful to the organizers at REI 2024 for this platform where seasoned veterans and talented newcomers can unite under the same banner to build a brighter, greener future for the nation.
