RE+ 2024

Date :

9 September 2024

Today, the world’s potential to produce renewable electricity is higher than ever. The year 2023 witnessed a significant boom in clean energy, with 50%1 more renewables integrated into the energy system worldwide, reaching a total of 510 GW1.

As the global community is moving towards developing clean energy systems, free from fossils, and committed to boosting clean energy, we at ReNew had the honour and privilege to participate in RE+ 2024 from September 9-12 in Anaheim, CA. RE+ 2024 brought together some of the brightest minds in renewable energy, offering the ReNew team a unique opportunity to network, gain insights, and discuss the industry’s future.

This year's theme was focused on advancing clean energy innovation, collaboration, and policy alignment across renewable energy sectors and the event hosted over 1300 exhibitors2, and 40,000 clean energy professionals2, showcasing their innovative contributions to the renewable space.

The US Renewable Energy Market and our takeaways from RE+ 2024

It is undeniable that the US's solar energy ecosystem is undergoing a massive transformation at the moment and manufacturing output from enterprises in the US is expected to grow by 2.5%1. Due to trade barriers between China and the US, India is uniquely positioned for the US market with its competitive offerings from the solar manufacturing industry.

As of Q3 2023, India-US solar exports rose 246%4 compared to Q3 2022, with the US generating $543.8 million4 in business. India’s solar panel production capacity reached 68 GW as of March 2024; the FY 2023-24 exports were valued at $1,939.925 million for solar modules.

Among Indian solar cell and module manufacturers, ReNew’s 2.5 GW cell manufacturing facility in Dholera, Gujarat, and 6.4 GW solar module manufacturing capacity in Jaipur and Dholera strengthen its competitive position in the market, supporting both India’s renewable energy goals and meeting domestic demand efficiently.

At the event, we took a deep dive into what these figures mean for the overall renewable energy ecosystem and how we can contribute to the escalation that is sure to define the next decade of the industry. We came across a lot of potential buyers and stakeholders sharing our vision for the future and are willing to help catapult the state of solar into a brighter tomorrow.

Our experts exhibited our solar panels which demonstrated the use of PERC (Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell) and TOPCon (Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact) technologies. The exhibition reinforced our confidence in the performance and future forwardness of our panels.

Looking forward

We are excited to announce our upcoming participation in the 2025 Intersolar event in San Diego will be a big step for us in the renewable energy sector. As we prepare for the event, we aim to bring together our innovation spirit and industry compliance with important trade regulations like Anti-Dumping (AD) and Countervailing Duties (CVD) policies to ensure a fair and competitive market environment.
